In facial treatments, high intensity focused ultrasound penetrates through the surface of the skin to deliver precise and fractional focused energy at the right depth of 3.0mm for connective tissue and 4.5 mm for the SMAS (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System) without damaging the epidermis. The HIFU targets the connective tissue stimulating new collagen and elastin synthesis via the wound healing response improving texture, firming and reducing wrinkles. The SMAS is the deeper layer and is responsible for the muscular activity in the face. By stimulating the SMAS and the connective tissue there is a contraction in the muscle and new collagen and elastin synthesis occur in both layers. These two mechanisms work naturally to both uplift and rejuvenate the skin with visible firming and tightening. The process of skin rejuvenation and regeneration continues as the extracellular collagen matrix is re-formed strengthened and remodelled. Best results are seen 8-12 weeks post-treatment but the effect will continue for up to 6 months after treatment.
4D HIFU is the latest advancement in High intensity focused ultrasound technology. It is built to last and with the latest up to date technology. It lifts contours within a shorter treatment time frame.
Our advanced 4D HIFU machine targets the upper dermis 1.5mm, lower dermis 3.00mm and most importantly the SMAS 4.5mm. The SMAS is the layer that sits between the muscle and the fat, the actual area a plastic or cosmetic surgeon would pull and tighten under the knife. HIFU targets this layer without any surgical incisions, giving the patient a no-downtime facelift and bodylift. Which means you can gain excellent results without any risks associated with surgery. Treatments are fast and results are seen immediately! This is why the HIFU treatment is known as the ‘lunch time face lift’.
HIFU works by using ultrasonic energy in combination with heat. The ultrasonic energy and heat bypass the surface of the skin to deliver targeted energy specifically into the deep, structural tissues and muscles of the skin. As new fibres start to regenerate, this increases the production of collagen which results in a tightening effect of the tissues from the inside out. The HIFU transducer irradiates 65-75ºC of HIFU energy into the skin, this then creates thermal coagulation on the target layers of skin tissue with no damage on the skin surface or surrounding tissues. Following the initial treatment, the skin starts to undergo wound healing process that simulates collagen synthesis and regeneration.
Unlike lasers, radio frequency, surgery and other cosmetic procedures, HIFU bypasses the surface of the skin to deliver the right amount of ultrasound energy at the right depths within the skin at the desired temperature. This HIFU energy triggers a natural response under the skin, causing the body to enter into the regenerative process, resulting in the production of new collagen.
Other ultrasound body contouring technologies often use low-intensity, low-frequency, or unfocused energy which can require multiple treatments and lead to unpredictable results. The 4D HIFU system uses high-intensity focused ultrasound energy to destroy targeted subcutaneous fat and deliver uniform, predictable results after a single 30 minute to one-hour treatment.
Unlike lasers, which penetrate the skin from the outside-in, the HIFU procedure by-passes the surface of the skin, and delivers targeted energy specifically into the deep, structural tissues and muscles where collagen lives.
By stimulating the deep structural support layers of the skin, a natural, regenerative response is initiated, stimulating the growth of new collagen, which lifts and tightens the skin over time.
Because ultrasound technology actually works non-invasively from the inside-out, results build gradually over 2-3 months, and can continue to improve up to 6 months after the procedure.
